Back from india on 29th. It's great to be home after being away for 2 months!!! :)

Great experience for me as the culture is totally very indian and tamil nadu is very steep into old traditions. I only travelled around a few places namely Coimbatore <pronounced as ko-yam-mu-to or ko-yam-ba-tor to some> where we stayed most of the time, Palani visitng temples, Tirupur, Chennai <good old madras> and mind you the beach front known as marina bay at chennai is really mind blowing. The beach is very long and full of people since it was a saturday evening and holidays <4 days for some religious festival> .... easily 1 million people on the beach!!!! Huge waves and many stalls selling food, souvenirs, side shows such as kids doing balancing act on the high wire, fortune tellers etc and watch out for human pooh while walking in the sand :ghost Other places i visited in Vadalur and of course Trichy.

Every where is full of people even late at night and if you smell the stench of pee you are rest assured that either the bas station or railway station is nearby ..... hmmmm some bus stops also stink :ph43r Can find many beggars along the streets ..... bus/rail stations, entrance to temples/churches, mosques. The people here are very religious so many throng to the temples to attend the pooja in the evenings.

Anyway i brought home many memories and better understanding of the indian culture :P

Get addicted with Indian foods?
Miss the indian food ..... NO WAY!!!!! They have something like the banana leaf rice we have here. They called it "meals" .... full vegetarian but i prefer our local 'meals' better.
1st week OK but 2nd week onwards .................... :thumbdown I started cooking 'chinese' food i.e. without any spice. BTW the last 3 weeks before leaving i chance on 'cili padi' so immediately i bot 300gms and a bottle of chinese soya sauce for my plate of cut cili padi n chopped garlic + soya sauce ..... yummy2 and my appetite improved .... hehehehe
only a few items i like, one of them is parota ..... like our roti chanai :thumbup Capati ..... home made is better than what they serve at the hotel .... yeap it means restaurant too. I was really confuse by the way they use the word "hotel" :unsure :mellow
Back a week already and yet to patronise any mamak stall for roti canai :mellow
