Since day 1 used petronas primax, feel no different between 97 and 95. Performance quite ok, Engine still smooth as usual, no extra sound.Yesterday drove to and fro Teluk Intan Ipoh, average speed 70 to 120 km/h, overtake no problem and as other aspect seem like no different.Just my two cents.

yeap manual tranmission and also improving drive habit since i m using highway most of the time now.plan trip corners and speed it helps a lot.

But some cars like my bil wira can feel lack of power very obvious after using ron 95...
I have also a Toyota KE70 1980 model. It uses RON97(Shell) before RON95 is available. When RON95 is available, I started to use RON95 (Shell) and found that engine runs more smoothly than when I was using RON97. Very happy with RON95 (Shell)

ever since ron95 has been started on sept 1st, bhp has made a smart move
to counter the market strategy by using their strong motto....

That's what I think and felt when doing the switch from Shell RON 97 to RON 95. Any other experiences from forum members?

hi all,

my avz when filled with ron95 encountered knocking issue and this has been happened for quite some time since 1-sept-2009 occasionally. initially i thought it might been the new spark plugs that changed during my 80k service at umwt. however during my recent change to ron97(paid a little bit more) the knocking issue seems to be gone for good.

for those who encounter the same problem, do try ron97 and let us know.

hi bro ongkh,

previously i used splitfire triple platinum and do a run for 60km(although it's been stated that it could run for 100km). i got the sc changed it and took back the splitfire to do postmorten on the electrodes and to my surprise it was still in good condition. the only thing that i haven't do with the used splitfire is measuring its gap between electrodes and its arm.

do anyone know the spec for gap on splitfire triple platinum? if ok, i might want to change it to do give a try again but will only be another 20km to use as i always believe in 80/20 rule. alternative i might want to try vulker sparkplug.

hi bro sk,

i always pump at almost the same stations as it's convenience to me: (30%)petronas, greenlane, (30%)shell, prai and (20%)shell, greenlane and 20% at other stations(but is using shell as well).

do you think might due to stations related?

Since you have pump at different station, it might not due to the station.
