Chinese custom : first year give "double" , second year onwards only 1 pckt/ person how about malay custom? on my personal account, last year ang pow given on cny is more than rm 2k so this year me expecting around 1.5-1.8.. I have two questions : 1. Would you rather give the ang pow/green packet or spend it on modification? 2. Do you felt heartache when giving out money? Answer: 1. For me its kinda obvious :lol3: I rather spend it on modification ( but no choice coz its customarily to do that after marriage ; make me miss the time when i was happily receiving it when still bachelor) :lol3: 2. Yup every single packet of it and have to pretend smilling.. whenever forced to go out, I look at my sling back and tell myself, omg .. i am going to take my bag with inside full of ang pow worth of 2k money and distribute out.. ouchhhhh :rolleyes :me_stupid :blink

Posts: 3,578 Group: Moderator Member #640 Joined: June 19, 2006	ocmax .... he spends cny with his wife's side at sg petani. me ... i rot in klang if got no programme. my husband's sisters + their kids will be coming over to my place. i seldom have open hse cos i myself got no relative except a sister in pj. my mil relatives in pj and bentong so maybe go there. plans are so uncertain cos i am the minority when comes to festival angpaus ...... i spend about 1.5K and i have 4 kids so normally the returns are higher :boo

I have two kids and the return is around 40% .. to answer your question. 1. Ang Pao and modification are two different things, and they should be budgeted differently. Ang Pao is a need, and it depends on individual for the amount. Modification is need/or need. 2. As long as the money is prepared in advance, then no headache.

You all and give me a ring if wanna come to my house for visit. i will be away to home town from 6 Feb to 9 Feb and 15 to 16 Feb other time i will be in Klang Area

dillon Posts: 277 Group: AOCM Member #2,888 Joined: August 5, 2007	haha.. bro baronteh.. u still have 40% return.. mine is totally zero as i dont have kids.. :angry but for me whether if u ask me to choose money for ang pow and money for mod.. i anytime prefer mod.. lol reason given : my relatives from both side.. one year also never called me once.. except for 5 person countable by finger.. but when come to cny or Got money to distribute.. they will be in "super-well-mannered mode" automatically come up to u and greet u "cousin brother"... sigh..
